Stock No 2487
Three Northern French carved Oak Panels, circa 1520, of excellent colour and untouched surface quality. They are of Flamboyant Gothic blind tracery design of lovely flowing effect. They employ the usual motifs of lancets, quatrefoils and leaf and bud figures. The main lower section is presented as a Gothic arch, each with a foliated Cross on top. The central motifs are a trefoil possibly symbolising the Trinity, with a cusped Saltire above it, and the third panel having a Fleur de Lys with a simple Cross on top of it. These panels are probably from a Cupboard or Dressoire. There are small losses to a couple of corners.
