Eight Ceiling Panels

Stock No. 2770

hese are two images from a set of eight early 16th century panels, probably from a ceiling. They are English Oak, circa 1500 – 1520..  Apart from them being rare, it is extremely unusual to find the eight still together, four with nulling top rails to the frame, and four in plain framing.  They have been nailed to an internal moulded frame and have original backing panels.  The outer framing is later, probably 17th century indicating that they could have been moved at some stage to a new property.  They also have significant traces of original polychrome underneath the grime!  They would look great mounted on a wall either in a run, or with the nulled ones over the plain panels in a block over a fireplace or to fill a large plain wall section. Pictures of the rest of this set are available on request
