SN2825Tracery Heads

Three English Oak carved and pierced Tracery Heads in the “flamboyant style, circa 1470 – 1500.  They are carved with great fluidity and are of extreme delicacy.  They have the usual motifs of leaf and bud spandrels and dividers, pointed Gothic arches and flower head terminals.  They also have a range of pierced designs of daggers, quatrefoils and trefoils.  They are in lovely dry untouched condition.  Some have the usual small losses one expects from this type of pierced and cut-out design.  Design wise they are most probably from Suffolk see pages 85 to 89 in “English Medieval Furniture and Woodwork, Charles Tracey, Victoria and Albert Museum, 1988
