SN 1243 Yoke-back Armchair

Late 18th Century Yoke-back Armchair, probably from the Welsh Borders.  This chair shows the development of a more refined style of primitive chair with the shaped centra back-splat and the attractively turned front arm supports.  It has some long standing repairs with metal reinforcing supports.  Another rare feature of this chair is the squared off legs and outer attachment of the stretchers.
