English Comb-back Armchair circa 1800. Constructed mainly in Ash and Elm, this chair has delightful proportions. The surface and colour are first rate, and it is made to a very sturdy standard. The slab seat has pegs to some of the inset sticks giving strength, above this is a single piece arm bow again with four of the sticks pegged through and set into a deep cresting rail. The front arm supports made in Elm are curved in shape with attractive detailing at the lower ends.
