Sn 2794 Bench End
English 15th Century Oak Bench End, circa 1470 of superb surface quality and also retaining its tenon joint with two one inch diameter peg holes. The front leading edge is carved all the way down. The outside facing side is carved in three registers. The bottom two have three gothic lights each, the top section has been filled with an abstract carving of twisted stems with foliage attached in a pleasing and balanced design solution. A serious medieval carving collector’s piece!!
